Where are you from? Valley Stream, NY
Where did you go to school? B.M. from James Madison University, M.A. from NYU Steinhardt
What are your biggest musical influences? I love obscure Broadway musicals. I was in a ska punk band in High School I’m also a huge Joni Mitchell fan.
What’s your guilty pleasure song? “Stay” by Lisa Loeb or anything from Grease 2
What’s your favorite part about teaching? I love finding that “perfect” song for a student. The song that lights them up, and truly allows their voice to shine.
“My favorite part about working with Kevin is that he emphasizes the physical/kinesthetic aspects of singing, which has provided me an athletic outlet that I never realized I was missing in my life! Kevin has coached me in an entirely exploratory manner, allowing me to tune into my bodies best hidden weaknesses so they can be addressed. This continuous process has been thoroughly humbling, and I now cannot imagine a life without this process!”
