We have been teachers in NYC for over 10 years, and have come to realize what makes students most successful and fulfilled as singers. The best learning environment is created when both singer and teacher bring something to the table. When a safe space is created, both parties participate in the voice lesson with a sense of openness, play, and a willingness to get messy. Only when we are willing to get messy, are we truly able to find something beautiful and authentic to ourselves.
We love what we do, and we are champions of our students. We are excited by and invest in students who are willing to commit to the process. No matter what level you are at, or what your background is, we can help you connect to your voice.
We have a number of voice students who are complete beginners, and we pride ourselves on creating a welcoming and supportive environment for each one of them. Singing and taking voice lessons for the first time can be terrifying, and we help our beginner voice students gain confidence in their singing by teaching the basic elements of musicality, breath, and resonance, all the while making sure to have some fun along the way.
You got cast in the show, congrats! Now you have do it 8x a week. We love teaching voice lessons to experienced New York singers and actors who are looking to brush up on vocal technique, refresh their audition books, and get excited about singing again.
Are you a NYC dancer looking to transition into musical theater? Are you terrified that your inability to sing will prevent you from booking the job despite the fact that you can kick your face, tumble, and do a triple pullback traveling time step? Have voice lessons always seemed scary to you? We can help!
Read the paragraph on dancers above and replace the “triple pullback” with “emotional sensitivity of Meryl Streep,” and/or “the comic timing of a young Bea Arthur.” You too, can benefit from voice lessons!
We love helping singer/songwriters find ease and control with their singing so that they never feel like their voice is preventing them from writing great songs.
Karaoke superstars, actor/singers returning to the biz, Gleeks, "The Voice" hopefuls, and all the rest, we love teaching you too!
